Enlightenment is man's release from self-incurred tutelage ~ Immanuel Kant
You are here because you are trying to make sense of something that is tough to make sense of. I have been working as a psychotherapist in private practice for over a decade. While every case is unique, in general, my practice is geared toward improving a client’s relationships, perhaps with a spouse, family members or colleagues. I work with both individuals and couples. I received training from renowned leaders in the field such as Dr. Dan Siegel, the late Dr. Sue Johnson, Dr. Gabor Maté, the Gottman Institute, W. Behary, LCSW, and others. My approach is informed by the importance, even primacy, of healthy, early life attachment templates and how disruptions in this process can negatively impact a person later in life. Positive growth and change always require a careful exploration and understanding of how your past is connected to your current behavior. This is a process I explore together with my clients.
I integrate a variety of approaches, including attachment science, CBT, neuroscience, EMDR, clinical hypnosis, and elements of psychoanalysis. I draw from social science, philosophy, mindfulness, and the arts to cultivate unique introspection and reveal hidden memories, which facilitates profound healing. Although therapy can be challenging, I have witnessed this process transform lives.

What you can expect from working with me
Through our work together, you will:
-
Develop a better understanding of how your past has shaped your behaviors and feelings, understanding that can lead to a shift that can be truly transformative.
-
Gain insight into how your emotional "baseline" impacts both your individual life and your relationships—a crucial step for creating positive change.
-
Learn a series of frameworks and insights that lead to stronger relationships and a happier life.
In other words, you will gain an understanding of why you feel the way you do. Then, given your unique set of strengths and quirks, we will develop healthier responses that positively impact your relationships. I strive to use plain language and avoid therapeutic jargon.
What I Expect from My Clients
-
Honesty, as it's the foundation for our work together.
-
A willingness to endure temporary discomfort.
Therapy can be a challenging journey and my goal is to help you gain perspective both on your strengths and your blind spots. While this can sometimes be uncomfortable, it can also be transformative.
